Where is his email address? A link to his site would be nice, just for that! I Googled his name plus "mic" but nothing came up. I like small, one man ops that build great stuff for reasonable prices. Orchid Electronics and Line Audio spring to mind.

Orchid Electronics and Line Audio spring to mind. Yeah, sorry. Should have included that. 3uaudio@gmail.com Here's the site. www.3uaudio.comAs general info, Guosheng has been a designer for other companies for a long time. 20+ years. He owns a small factory too. His bread and butter has always been design/manufacturing for other mic companies but a few years ago he started selling his own mics directly. They've been a pretty big hit. I've got 6 of them here and am a big fan.

The bodies are either transformer or transformerless? The capsules are interchangeable with both X-Former and X-formerless bodies?

The bodies are either transformer or transformerless? The capsules are interchangeable with both X-Former and X-formerless bodies? Yes and yes. CM100 are transfoemeless (see earlier in this thread for some clips of mine), Warbler 127 is the (just completed) transformer coupled version. Capsules are interchangeable. He's also doing a "cardioid flat" capsule that's KM84 inspired. I'm gonna get a pair of those.

Thanks for the info. A pair of the transformer bodies with the KM84 capsules could be just what I need too, if they come close to the real thing.

Just placed my order for a matched pair with flat omnis and hypers; looking forward to the flat cardioid in a month.
Guoshy's MK1D mic has been my workhorse- a general go-to for a myriad of recording situations. Even if it's not the best for a certain source, it will always give me something usable. I've used it for field/folio recordings, a podcast, a guitar amp, snare, drum overheads (matched pair) and lead vocals. Always delivers with serious muscle for the heavy lifting.
I am beyond stoked for these SDCs!

Well I played with mine today just throwing it up on acoustic- usual suspects placement wise 12th fret etc... and I'm digging the vibe for sure. Articulate and sound sweet in combo w/CAPI312 & vp28's. My mic did come loose from the preformed packing inside and probably bounced around a bit, but no damage cosmetic/function wise.
I'll leave it to Ragan to post some clips since he'll have all the capsule comparisons.Never used the real deal Km84's but to my ear's less brittle and more musical then other SDC's in the same price range that's for sure! And I gotta say even with the 1 day delay in shipping still got here in a matter of days. AMAZING, I remember ordering my MK1D and anxiously waiting for a week...glad he sorted that all out BONUS.

Here are some Warbler 127 acoustic guitar clips. I like to hear various contexts when I get new mics so here are a few things. These are all with the 'cardioid flat' capsule. wizMono: https%3A//soundcloud.com/fir_out/warbler-127-card-flat-mono-acoustic

I kinda like the sound of these. The acoustic tracks reminded me of the U67 I heard a few weeks back. It wasn't such a good fit for the two vocalists at a shootout I attended, but man, on the acoustic guitar, it had THAT sound. Like John Lennon was strumming in the room. Not saying other mics wouldn't beat this in a shootout, but it has a sound, and I like mics that have their own flavor.

Thanks for posting these examples. These mics sound stellar, the mono to me having real depth and sweet clarity, the stereo clip to my ears, a dream. I think that I need these. The CM 100 were fantastic, me thinks these Warbler 127 are...stupendous. I bet dollars to donuts these also kill as overheads as well as for percussion. I have no budget right now so will sell a few things to fund the purchase of a pair.
