I was a few hundred miles north of London, and my cousin ordered a Guinness, with a shot of Roses Lime juice on the bottom. I scoffed and scowled, then he said "that's the way we do it up here, just try it", took a sip, and damn, it was really frickin' good. I can understand not liking the shot of Roses, but over OJ and Mountain Dew, blasphemy.

We used to get PBR in college so no one would steal our beer. In Wisconsin we considered PBR, Blatz , Old Style Old Milwaukee ect our Revenge on the FIB's ( fucking IL bastards). In college everybody else was drinking Bush Light , we bought Huber a small local brew by the guy who started Augsberger and Bergholff for $5.00 a case !

HBD Martin and Eric!
Not sure if anything went down last night or not. With the gas situation, I figured I would stay in and conserve.

"Next year lets plan something in Nashvegas!" Good idea. Mine's next weekend. And two other musician friends of mine have birthdays right around now. Is this a thing?

Anyone ever float Guinness over OJ? Angry Wasp. A shot of port in a pint of Guiness is popular in some parts here. One hungover day in Poland my brother requested a shandy (Half lager, half lemonade) and the waitress refused to make it. Gave him a pint of beer and a bottle of lemonade and said he could wreck it himself.

Ugh, I'll have to try it to be convinced!

Beer cocktails are generally criminal here. You might get away with adding more booze to your booze, but minerals (Soda, as you call em) and juices are never added. In any old man pub you'd face a lot of strange looks and even a few comments.

Anyone ever walked that plank?

Anyone ever walked that plank? No, but it sounds good! Flavored vodkas are still pretty hard to get in the British Isles, people think Vodka is just Smirnoff. Irish Car Bombs are pretty good, my friend used to whip em up back when I lived in Japan. Any takers? Irish coffees are the nom de jouer here, as well as a very popular brand of Ginger beer that is a mixture of Pear Cider and a very sharp ginger ale. You'd struggle to get a Snakebite or Black and Tan unless you want to Northern Ireland. My friend and I often mix vodka, tonic, lime juice and ground pepper if it's real hot. You can substitute in gin or ginger ale for the vodka or tonic, it's a great combo.
