Alright people this new reverb is frikkin KILLER!! It uses the PhoenixVerb algo as well as new algos to create wonderful deep reverbs and spaces. The "Warp" section turns it into a sound laboratory for new sounds as well as expanded eq's, tempo lock and a whole bunch of other features. 1200 presets to get you where you need to go! No, I don't work for Exponential, I just love their products... www.exponentialaudio.com/nimbus/

From email I recieved "NIMBUS will be $199. There will also be a special upgrade offer for owners of any other Exponential Audio plugin. But for a very limited time after product release, there will be special pricing. Be sure not to miss it! "

I have UAD's EMT-140, Ocean Way Studios, Relab XL-480, all the Waves reverb's plus Logic's reverbs, and I still think about how good the PhoenixVerb sounded when I listened to it. It was the closest thing in quality to a Bricasti I'd heard a plug-in come.
If things weren't so tight right now, I'd spring for Nimbus anyway.

Nimbus will be available for $199 in late September according to Michael. I've had the pleasure of beta testing and its like PhoenixVerb expanded like crazy. There are also 5 new early reflection patterns including a "vintage" pattern which sounds great. It's got separate eq's for input, early reflection and tail. It has compression/expansion, bit reduction, tail supression control, pre delay can be specified in note value plus a whole bunch of other stuff I'm forgetting! Anyway it's a very powerful reverb with a shitload of control over all aspects plus it's got over 1200 presets. Check out the "Voice" examples video!! www.exponentialaudio.com/nimbus-sound-examples

Chambers sound great, just like PhoenixVerb, but with better control/filtering.
That dynamic wood room is nice.
Wish I could beta test this on the project I've been working on, where I've used Phoenix quite a bit.

Michael sent me an advance copy and I gladly gave him my endorsement. Between this and the Abbey Road plates, it's just like the 1970s!

Bob, are you referring to the Waves Abbey Road plates?

Are there any others?

Didn't think of that Bob, there may not be any other extant!
But, there is the Poor Plate, which is actually quite useful in some places, as it's wider than the UAD EMT-140. I'm sure it won't be long before UAD offers one.

I think Exponential Audio is one of those "sleeper" companies that is just as good or better as the more popular things people end up using. Come to think of it, that's one of my favorite types of things, the underdog.

I've got just about every reverb plugin known to man!
But I could never get that Peter Gabriel "Here comes the flood" vocal reverb.
Now I have no idea what was originally used on that record, I just know it has been unobtainium for me - until ....
I bought Abbey Road Plates - which does in fact give me the exact sound I was looking for.
I'm glad to see reading this thread I'm not the only person excited about that plugin.
Sorry for the OT there back to the Nimbus reverb.

Is this taking the place of Phoenix verb?

It is in my life but he is still supporting and selling PhoenixVerb

Yeah, the Abbey Roads Plates are really good. I still dig the UAD EMT 140 though...but they seems to be different enough to own both. Gonna have to check Nimbus out.

I DO.

So, wait. As a Phoenix owner, I can upgrade for $99, but can't ever sell/transfer my NIMBUS license? Or I can pay $139 for a full and transferable license?

Love the sound of this reverb! Fits anywhere...

Yeah it's basically Phoenix 2.0, but given that R2 was priced higher with fewer features than this, the upgrade pricing makes sense.
The tail suppression and warp functions add a whole other dimension. And the new early reflection options I generally prefer to the old. This is top quality stuff.
My favorite reverb for chambers.
