It's not the best sounding one I have. I'm gonna figure out how big it is--if it's big, I'm gonna figure out how to remove it. But, I'm a Hammond+EP guy mainly. Before buying the Kronos, it was on the table to instead just buy a nice Wurli and Rhodes with the money instead and have zero digital instruments in the studio. I mean, go to the Rhodes (or maybe the Clav?) with the wah and the amp....played lightly--it's what you expect (and can replicate kinda with lots of Kontakt EP engine of the Kronos)---but, then smack it hard, and the amp loses it's shit....I'm gonna write a song JUST to use that patch. Yes--it's hella expensive unless you need/want the variety. $375 for a single acoustic piano is... yeah....or a friend of mine says "Why do they think I'm gonna pay $400 to more authentically play the old Sanford&Sons Theme?" #HilariousShitDrummersSay my only complain thus far (other than, holy shit it takes the whole computer to play this)....is the lack of half pedaling. Cue 900 people saying "I don't use half pedaling"....yes, on an analog instrument you DO--it's not a conscious choice. It's not like someone is sitting htere with their pedal half down playing semi sustaining notes....it's the effect of the granular sweep of the pedal from damper on to off....no piano--acoustic or electric has some binary pedal mechanism....anyway--he's emulating it here the way Alicia's Keys did 10 years ago. Better than nothing, for sure--but for some be all end all piano instrument to NOT have true half pedaling is sad....well...maybe that will be 2.0. I guess they figure most people don't even have half pedaling capable keyboard/pedals.

I prefer the Ravenscroft 275 piano to the C7 in Keyscape. Keyscape as a package of instruments I find to be quite good to excellent and have no regrets buying it. It gets used a lot in our studio especially when used within Omnisphere. As far as all of this stuff goes (including amp modeling etc.) to my ears there's still nothing like the real thing. With respect to half pedaling the Ravencroft 275 works with a single on/off pedal for basic sustain, or you can use all three pedals including piano-style continuous damper pedals for smooth Half-pedal control plus Sostenuto and Una Corda functions. Sounds great.

Yes, my Ivory American D does as well (and likely all the v2 Ivory pianos)....as does my Kronos and I assume their new Grandstage, since it's using the same sound engines. That's why I mention it. It's an odd omission for a "modern cutting edge resource using" virtual piano instrument. IMO.
Side note to Kennedy--you DO need to change some things in a LOT of these presets:
-Velocity to half way or over. 1 oclock seems to be the most natural for me. -Reverb level and often time down (or off all together) -tape sim EITHER off or set with the "pad" engaged.
Also--make sure to get your keyboard calibrated globally. There's a preset for the Kronos 88--linear is not cool with the Kronos (apparently) with this instrument. There seem to be a lot of presets--I don't know what kind of board you have, so....pick the closest manufacturer maybe?

This is a better piano than I thought on first playthorugh---this would be a crituqe I have of the app in general--there needs to be a "full on" preset. What I'm finding acorss all these is that the presets literally load different samples of the same instrument and configure their "under the hood" dynamics differently....so, I made my first judgements based on the simple top of the list "no descriptor" preset--thinking (wrongly I think) this is the best version without "special effects". I'm really digging the "studio" preset on the C7.....I still prefer the steinway, because....seriously not sure who doesn't....but, this is a lovely piano.
Also a side note for anyone reading--I had forgotten than Ivory comes with Cantible (VSTi host) on the PC--it has it's own stand alone app on OSX.....but, that comes in handy now because Keyscape doesn't--now I can save a Cantible session with one or both and launch it to just play the instrument with less overhead and startup time. Not to mention, it lets me keep the Cubase dongle plugged into the Mac....

Im a big fan of Keyscape here. I waited to get it thinking I didn't need another vsti piano. The Keyscape grand is a definite step up from my other piano plugins. It sounds great solo, and in a track, and unlike many piano samples, it takes EQ very nicely without getting as harsh.

I even called it...I again realized I can’t really play the piano. Actually just put a Wurlitzer 140 in place of the AD Keys one and it was much more of what I was looking for.

I’m finding too that tweaking the presets gets me closer to what I like...and I’ve noticed that the Keyscape C7 seems to sound more like a real piano in mixes to me...and just sitting around playing it.
