Hmm Soundtoys sale end in a day and I can get ST 5 for $133 been liking dacapitator a lot.
Just demoing Eventide 910 it's on sale for $99: finding it very cool.
Although ST5 is 18 plugs I wonder how many you would use ?
Thoughts ?

I just got both...Trying out the Omnipressor on parallel drum bus and it's awesome. Very cool comp and tone shaper. Echo Boy and Decapitator are worth the $133 alone - then throw in Devil Loc and Radiator, Primal Tap, Pan Man. Just killer.

I use the Decapitator on a lot of different instruments.... Drums, guitars, bass, strings, horns etc. Once you start understanding that tone knob and the blend you can shape things in so many different ways, and most of the time I don't even hear any distortion when I'm using it.

They're ITB classics.

It cost me $279 to upgrade during their "Greatest Ever" Black Friday sale a couple years ago, before V5 was even released. It took them a year or something to even release 5 after their promised date. Totally boned us long time customers and now they're blowing it out for less than half the price. Dicks.
...their software is still unreal though and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
Ohh yeah, at the time, you could only upgrade from 1 plugin or something, so I have redundant licenses for Microshift V4 and PrimalTap V5 if anyone is looking for those singles.

Loaded up the H910, H3000 Factory, Ultrachannel and Microshift then did a quick comparison... I liked the H910 a hair more than the others. The H3000 & Ultrachannel sounded pretty much the same to me. Microshift was good but didn't seem to have the same mojo as the others. But, it had a lot of tweakability so who knows how much better I could have made it sound if I tried... Just my .02

I will be in the search for an H3000 Hardware unit in the near future. I love that box. I had one here not long ago, but had to send it back because it had some issues that weren't mentioned when I bought it. I was really bummed because it was a DFX 3500 loaded with sampler board. Still searching...

Well having demoed ST5 I discovered my UAD plugins cover the parts of ST5 I would actually use.
I did however buy the Eventide H910 in the sale which is just fantastic and great on vocals, guitars, drums, bass .... well everything really!
I also bought the Eventide H3000 plugin (which I fortunately found second hand) I really dig this plugin too and it really does sound different to the H910, which goes to show how accurately Eventide modelled the H910 as it really has it's own vibe.
Slightly OT I found a second license for the Waves Abbey Road Plates which I'm blown away with and seems for the first time to allow me to get "that" reverb sound on a track like Gabriel's "Here comes the flood" a vocal reverb I've never managed to get before but is easy to dial in with the Waves ARP.
Just add a touch of vocal widening with the H910 and track with my Retro STA Level and my recording can lie through it's teeth about how good I actually am as a singer :-)

Both of these brands have some really sweet plugins, I use some of each.
The first Eventides I got were UltraChannel and Ultra Reverb, and they are both fantastic. Great tools for the box.

Zombie Thread Alert: FYI PluginDiscounts.com has Microshift on Black Friday sale for $25. They also have a bunch of Eventide plugins on sale cheaper than Eventide is currently advertising for Black Friday. Thinking about getting the Omnipressor.
Maybe we should have a thread for good Black Friday spotted deals.

I like the sound of everything Soundtoys offers, but Eventide has a handful of things like the H3K and 2016 that are just their own thing. That said while the H3K plugins are way more powerful and easier to use than the real thing, if you want the sound of the h3000 you still have to buy the real thing.

Soundtoys are one of those staple, undeniably necessary plugin packs for me. Yeah there's probably 6-8 I never open, but the ones I do make everything worth it. And they always offer crazy discounts that make getting the whole bundle still better than buying only what you need.
Decapitator, Echoboy, Little Plate, Microshift, Tremolator, Little Altar Boy, Devil-Loc, Radiator, Pan-Man. Holy...

I really don't see how these company's can discount so much, except to think they know there's gonna new OS's/platform changes coming and they'll say they have to resell this equipment all over again to meet the requirements of the OS/platform.

I really don't see how these company's can discount so much, except to think they know there's gonna new OS's/platform changes coming and they'll say they have to resell this equipment all over again to meet the requirements of the OS/platform. This isn't hardware being discounted (at least not much). It's software written long ago, likely based on code that was taken from early products in the world. Yes, they have overhead and need to pay for further research and development, but if they have positive cash flow coming in and no expense for inventory, then they are thankful to bring more customers into their fold. I'd say the discounts have ultimate led me to spending more money with a company in the long run, compared to companies I'm on a fence about and they never discount. I just don't go there usually. Sad, maybe, but true. Eventide speaks openly about hardware pieces like the Omnipressor that they loved, but the numbers weren't there at the time to keep producing them. Now in software form, they sell thousands of units and they don't really have to research anything further about it or buy the components to make it work.
