Bought a GE 6072A for my Upton 251. Not my favorite purchase, pretty expensive, but a nice improvement on a sound I was already pleased with. Always thought the GE's made it too bright. You try a Mullard? I believe it's a 12AT7. Nice and muscle-ey and a softer top

The studio has the 140, 200A, 206, and the accordion. Amazingly, they have been one of the least maintenance hogs. Don’t know why.

Just got an AEA R88 to replace one that I (stupidly) sold a couple years ago. These things are so incredible and have so many great uses. Hard to believe I actually let the first one go.

Stam 78, Beesneez Elly fet (special order with m7 capsule).
Haven't had the time to dig into either, but really curious how the elly compares to the gefell mt71s.

Loved / Hated my Wurlies. Including the tube one from the early 60's that was made out of particle board and the cheapo plastic ones from the late 70's. Loved the sound, hated the breakdowns and maintenance. I do miss them though.... But not enough to buy another. LOL. At least they didn't break my foot like the Rhodes did.... They feel pretty stable, of course it would probably be better to replace the electronics. As long as you service it and don't travel with it it should hold up fairly well. It does sound amazing and is a very inspiring piece of gear

Bought a tube that supposedly measured well and the results were good enough for me.
I haven't been EQing the 251 tracks much and I'm pretty heavy-handed. On vocals or mono OH, I sometimes add 100 or 60 with a Pultec and that skews the spectrum back in balance if it feels too bright.

SNIP AND the dust left over from tuning them. LMAO! So that's how YOU did it. OK. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHA

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHA Do they even work without the magic "dust" and particulate lead pieces floating around inside them? . If it doesn't "crackle" when you play it for an hour, consider yourself blessed and make sure you never have to tune or replace a tine, and for God's sake, NEVER move it again.

Little Labs Monotor to take to the studio to use with my Audeze LCD-5’s…and for clients so they don’t have to check mixes on the Hearback mixers (not the greatest) Have one and it sounds amazing. Great features too.

Another comp... they are a bit like Telecasters for me. Not easy to have just one or five or eleven .
Nice local deal - unused. TK BC1 2018 Anniversary version. This is the best version IMO.
Mastering Comp. Detent, Blend Knob, HPF, THD, Grab Function.
Stacking it with the AS G Stereo Comp and running it with 40%-50% blend is a nice combo.

The Phoenix DRSQ4s w ZenPro mod are here and racked up. Warren (ZP) and Robin (Phoenix) went above and beyond to get these to me quickly. Also racked up the new Sebatron Quad, and finally racked the Tapco spring reverb I got from sean . Not sure why the photo is cropped in the thumbnail...

Wow~ I am impressed as much by the fact you have space for it! Beautiful! The EMT takes up a pretty big chunk of space in our back room…and the Otari’s went to my house. I can’t decide if I want/need both. I need to get them calibrated and do some A/B testing

In addition to the Soyuz 011 transformerless SDCs, put in a pre-order for the Moog Spectravox thing.
Was looking for a Moog String Filter for years but it's rare and we're in 2+ used car territories, pricing-wise, for some of this old coveted stuff. There are plenty of fixed filters on the market but I only have a Mother 32 (not going full Eurorack anytime soon). This integrates with that and is capable of a lot in a mix-context. It's a vocoder as well.

This new filter/synth is above and beyond what I was looking for. It's a vocoder as well. The Waldorf STVC has a pretty sweet vocoder. I ordered mine from the UK... $625 total. Not sure it covers the same territory but also might be worth a look.

Just added a pair of WesAudio Beta76 comps, a CAPI Heider H2/FC526/BT50 channel strip, and an Acme MTP-66 preamp/DI—very happy with all of them so far!

How do you like the CAPI strip so far? I haven't heard much about the H2 Heider and pretty curious, especially paired with the BT50. And what opamps did you get with your BT50? Thanks!

How do you like the CAPI strip so far? I haven't heard much about the H2 Heider and pretty curious, especially paired with the BT50. And what opamps did you get with your BT50? Thanks! The Heider was a revelation! I had long since settle on the VP28 as my mic pre of choice (see pic) and expected this to sound similar but, hopefully, better in some way, but I didn’t expect it to sound this much better! It doesn’t sound dissimilar to the VP28, just much bigger—hefty lows and an extended but smoother top. Everything folks like about Neve and API combined, really. Reminds me of the Electrodyne 501. It’s funny—while I find the BT50 an absolutely necessary pairing with my VP28s, the Heider sounds much more finished to me right off the bat, so I don’t find myself reaching for the EQ as much. I’ve got CAPI 0252 opamps in everything. Attachments:

With such a low amount of gain as a mic pre, what sources does it do well on? Thanks for sharing! I’m mostly using it as a DI (which sounds really, really great, even on guitar!) I’ve used it as a mic pre a few times though and never found the gain to be lacking when paired with my tube mics or even my dynamics/ribbons on loud sources. Difficult to describe the sound… not dissimilar to my REDD.47s on top, but the low end is bigger/rounder without being muddy. For my synesthetic friends, if the REDD sounds silver to you like it does to me, the MTP-66 is more rose gold…

First foray into lunchbox territory: Wes Supercarrier II, a second hand 512c, 2x AML EZP1As, a Singular tubedrve and a Density all delivered today. Ferrofish Pulse arriving later, but I've just received a notification that the delivery of the cables to hook everything up is delayed till Monday, so can only admire them visually until then LOL SMH FML SNAFU etc.
