1 The Grammys PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PAY FOR WHAT WE JUST GAVE YOU FOR FREE!
2 Just because you put a tiny little stage in the middle of the Staples Center , by no means makes it sound or feel intimate.
3 great my neighbor one another one , that's going to make for a great elevator ride!

Am I the only one in the world that has no interest in seeing "Hamilton?" I love Broadway (second gayest thing I've said today...) but I don't really have a desire.

Man. I accidentally saw a little on my way to hitting the Netflix button. It was Carrie Underwood and the "take your time" guy and it was TURRIBLE.
I wish my WiFi was better so Netflix would have loaded faster.

I'm almost at a loss for words regarding the appalling "tribute" to David Bowie on tonight's Grammy Award show. It was so tasteless, I can't believe Nile Rogers signed off on it. The touching tribute to BB King afterwards proved it can be done well. A montage of his work and life and maybe someone close like Iggy Pop singing Heroes or someone with real chops singing Life On Mars would have been all that was needed at this time. One of the greatest artists of our time, reduced to fodder for self serving imitators. Gaga was so amateurish, it was insulting, it sounded like someone was surfing channels on the car radio instead of a well designed medley, which was a bad idea in the first place.
I felt the speech regarding payments of less than a penny for musicians barely touched the issue, and was said in such a boring way as to make people ignore the statement.

Agreed... I think Gaga is super talented but that tribute was awful. I realize she was trying to evoke Bowie with the outfit and hair but she looked like a clown. Whatever slight appreciation I had for it was quickly destroyed by the fact Gaga/Rogers appeared in the INTEL commercial directly after it, like the whole thing was a corporate piece. Gross.
The BB King thing was pretty good but awkward with Bonnie introducing it then leaving and coming back.
I would have like to have seen metallica or someone who loved Lemmy send him off instead of the "first time ever on TV, Hollywood Vampires"
Like Johnkenn said, overall terrible production and sound. I did Like Taylor Swift at the top.
Bummed to learn Jimmie Haskell passed on the 4th - wasn't friends with him but he was a friend of a friend and I hung with him a bunch of times listening to great stories about Phil Ramone and Billy Joel, Elton John, etc. If you weren't familiar he did the arrangement on "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" among other things. RIP

"Bowie deserved better than Gaga doing an impression of Liberace doing an impression of David Bowie" --Ms Pop
The night was made, however, by some millennial digital Venue jockey not being able to find where someone's offstage HORRIBLE guitar playing was coming from during Adele's set and watching the looks change on her face as it came and went and got further from the actual chord progression of the song. That's a HARD song to sing....and to have someone with some out of tune barre chords on piezo pickup'd acoustic blasting the wrong chords in awkwardly bad rhythm....? I'd have been stopping and making jokes about the ghost of the worst guitar player in the world haunting the theatre. I'd be blowing up twitter by asking if the ghost of Lou Reed could kindly STFU. #boomersBoreMe
You didn't miss much with the Eagles tribute--it really wasn't anything in fact....Leadon and Jackson Browne came out with otherwise current Eagles and sang Take it Easy. Done. Over. Fini. A tribute? I guess his picture was up behind the stage. Better than having Beiber do a solo acoustic version of You Belong to the City, I guess.

I'm surprised NARAS didn't have Miley Cyrus do a tribute version of "Sexy Girl"

Even an Eagles tribute to Glenn Frey is not right without Don Felder... even if Glenn Frey's last words to him were "I'm going to effing kill you when we get off this stage". I believe... well, in 1980 or 1981. At that Senator's fundraiser. But didn't Frey say something like that again to him when Henley and he screwed him over and out? Anyhow, without Felder, to me, it's just nothing but a Don Henley show.

In a fair world:
Record of the Year: I Can't Feel My Face - The Week'nd Album of the Year: To Pimp A Butterfly - Kendrick Song of the Year: I Can't Feel My Face - The Week'nd Best Pop Solo Performance: I Can't Feel My Face - The Week'nd Best Pop/Duo Performance: Uptown Funk Best Rock Album: The Most Lamentable Tragedy - Titus Andronicus Best Alternative: No Cities to Love - Sleater Kinney
Special Turd of the Year: Tyler, The Creator - Cherry Bomb
The Grammy awards this year were unbearably milquetoast and white. Wilco were the most "out there" band in the Alternative genre and even they're extremely boring. But even that aside, I don't know if I want to live on a world where Meghan Trainor and Ed Sheeran are considered the best at what they do. It's fucking awful.

Just saw the Gaga-Bowie-tribute. Awful. Just awful. I don't dare watching the rest of the show after this. I read Gaga stated something like "...It was the most difficult challenge in my career...love Bowie...blabla." Well, challenge lost. It could have been hardly worse. Her look was awful, the medley was awful, the performance was awful IMO, i hated the whole show dancing stuff, it did not work out at all... And generally - why GAGA? Didn't they ask anyone with a real connection to Bowie? Puh....

The Grammys are not really an award show , it's really a giant commercial asking people to pay for music! I have heard people say " we should just give an award to anybody who goes platinum , because they are keeping people employed!

Not a guitar, but a piano miking issue. Here's a quote from a news source: Recording Academy President Neil Portnow said there was a "technical glitch" after a microphone fell into the piano during the performance. Then, when audio people switched sound systems to cover the noise, there was another problem. “Typically that’s a seamless process. It wasn’t seamless. So you had a couple of seconds there where we did not have audio in the house. It was fixed in a matter of seconds, but we’re never happy when something like that happens.” Portnow said the problems during the performance were “off-putting and certainly unexpected” for Adele. “To Adele’s credit, she did a fantastic job. She just went through it," he said.

Somebody should have known this the most likely set out on that little island where gremlins were going to show up! They should have had it as the first set on the island and had canned Backibg and vocals because as Adel said "shit happens" The thing about getting good at shows like this is you tend to forget what can happen!

Rather than doing Frank Sinatra 100 celebration they should do a seperate memorial show every year! They should have gotten Peter Gabrial to do Hereos with an Orchestra, of course I thought they should Have had him do the Power of the Heart for a Lou Reed memorial last year! The best music based thing I saw last night on TV was Fellon and Will Farrow joking about the Cowbell sketch!
