I especially liked the part where he talks about the time where he was not reading scientific stuff anymore, but exclusively "Donald Duck" and "Clever&Smart" comics. What a great approach to audio research... One could argue that Donald Duck and Clever & Smart are a lot more... well, clever and smart than so-called scientists...

I've seen ads for hand picked and ear tested "special" 3A mains plug fuses for £25. (a fuse costs what 30 cents)
With whole reviews about how the music was more evolving and engaging through their £25 fuse than a standard mains fuse.
As they say a fool and his money are easily parted!

hightenor, you really don't use platin, gold and silver fuses, like we all do? Ooooooh, it makes such a difference! :-)

I laugh about this too, but sometimes there's something to things you might expect to be snake oil, so I try to listen before judging. I have some rubbery type isolation feet called Soft Shoes that look like mini hockey pucks. I also have 5 or 6 other types of isolation feet of varying materials from when I had two high end stereo systems years back. Switch them out, and damn if the Soft Shoes don't bring a little more depth to the sound stage and more separation of individual instruments, where the other ones do nothing.
They only cost around $25, so it isn't always about a high price tag. I have my monitors on them right now until I get some extra change for isostands.
