Well, you can monitor what you're bringing back in...just monitor the input channel.

Yes, Herbie, you are right, I meant insert but didn't say that correctly:thx!
I am familiar with inserting in pro tools but not in Logic which Martin uses.

Hello Guys, I am bit busy these days. The SA-2A second batch start shipping next week! The SA-4000 will be shipping in late May provided everything goes well with the shipment of parts. There is a video of the SA-4000 in action: Cheers! Sounds great! If you're not done wiring them all up and sending all the orders out, note that the threshold is reversed. Gustav

Ahhhh shit! Pre-ordered!
This is the first new piece of gear I've bought, I think...feels weird. Everything else has been used or b-stock, etc.
Sooooooo...now...I wait. And I'm not good at waiting...
But, for as good as this compressor sounds, I can wait!

Sounds great! If you're not done wiring them all up and sending all the orders out, note that the threshold is reversed. Gustav Noticed the same thing. Also surprised it was compressing even with the threshold all the way up. I'm sure the signal was very hot. Makes sense. Even the plugin version will show compression on a hot signal.

You should have gotten an email early last month basically saying "the supplier for our knobs sent us the wrong ones. The correct ones are three weeks out so we expect to be shipping in the middle of August."
The email went to my spam folder so I almost missed it.
The other day someone (named "Ron Miller") asked about it. They said they'd start shipping [this current week]:
Ron Miller August 12 at 5:25pm "The knobs will arrive the first week of August so we can guarantee 100% that we are going to start shipping in August and you will be notified as soon as your gear is ready" So how much longer for the sa4000?
Stam Audio We star shipping next week, I will email you when your order is ready =) Unlike · Reply · 3 · August 12 at 11:47pm

Quick update from the other site:
From Joshua - "Hi Guys,
I will have the first 100 units ready to dispatch on the 15th, however, I still dont get the knobs from Sifam, they are saying end August. So, should I just send them with regular knobs or should we wait?
Getting the knobs later to each of you will be VERY expensive to ship from Chile, there is a minimumg international charge, so we are looking at thousands of dollars unless I send them all to one client in the US and he can then send them individually and the same in Europe. If somebody wants to help me with this task I am happy to offer him the unit for free.
Almost there now
Thanks!!"
Some people are saying "wait" and some people want them shipped now with the other knobs.

Hoping to get an invoice soon, unfortunately I'm fearing another delay. In the SA2A thread on purple site, there are posters who put down deposits Last spring (poster's words ) with no update for months regarding their units. Josh replied saying shipping has started for SA2A, so hopefully we will hear some good news regarding knobs and shipping.

Well, I just got a Warm Audio WA2A, no prob getting one. Dealing with a reliable American company always feels good.
I'm very interested in the Stam compressor though. Every time I've used an SSL board I really liked what i heard, so a 2 bus compressor like this should be very cool. I'm looking forward to hearing from you guys once you get them.
I wish Stam al the best luck with this. I know it's frustrating to wait... but as long as he keeps up with emails, people will forgive once their units arrive.

Not to mention the sa2a were wired incorrectly where the input would be phase reversed with the output. This worries me because I don't have multimeter and soldering kit anymore, so this would be added expense to be fixed if Stam " mistakenly" wired the sa4000 incorrectly. Hoping this is not the case and am still rooting for Stam and definitely want the sa4000 to be a grand slam in all regards.

One of the threads got moved to the moan zone when the poster asked about the qc/ build quality of Stam audio products. The newest one is here post #2. If I have more time I will dig up more posts for you or you can search for sa2a on GS to find more info. Edit*** so the moan zone thread I was talking about has since been deleted on GS gotta love that huh! I wish I remember the OP name but I don't. I'm going thru my old posts now to see if I still have them because I posted in the thread. The link below states the same phase issue but is different from the other posters who originally brought this problem up. www.gearslutz.com/board/gear-shoot-outs-sound-file-comparisons-audio-tests/1101100-stam-sa-2a-transformer-swap-utc-ha-100x-24-a.html#post12002817

Are you sure the SA2A has a phase inversion issue? - Okay I saw the article. I'm half way through building a Serpent Audio SB-4000 and it has a documented fault with the PCBs which requires mod which involves rewiring a couple of input resistors.
