We all know Guitars can suffer from strong string resonances and room modes in the guitar body.
Some even have only one annoying resonance on a single note.
Other guitars are just full of it the empty strings resonate nearly on everything.
Not everybody wants to dampen the strings with the right hand, it also changes the tension of the top which changes the tone.
My luthier showed me an interesting science paper written by the well known guitar maker Angela Waltner from Berlin - Germany.
She takes strong care for the problem of string resonances.
But her classical guitars are up from 5 K in Euros.
We talked about String dampers.
All the commercial solutions are a little bit crazy to me.
I used a kleenex-tissue two layers.
With my flat pick I tighten it up against the saddle.
Works great for nearly 0 dollars string resonances in tracking are minimized - I am impressed.
The downside is open strings, they do not sound good anymore.
As long as you play solos or closed chords the string separation is great.
