I'm holding out for the shipwrecked versions that include internal saltwater distressing for better tone. Hey man some gear has "Not for use in tropical/humid/salty weather" disclaimer stickers on the back not for customers in Florida or Vietnam but just to get the manufacturers out of paying for constant repairs for rich guys who use them in beachfront project studios where they just get wrecked by the air.

Yes, and the Shipwreck™ version of these units lovingly recreates the impact of that salty-moist air and then some. Move over tube saturation, it's time to make room for the rich, velvety tone of laminate transformer core corrosion.

BTW, just got the April 2nd email from Audioscape, which contains this text: "It's 04/02 and we can conclusively say the Train-wrecked Series is no joke! L.Trainor is an amazing artist and knocked these out of the park. Super huge shout-out to drBill for this amazing idea and facilitating this happening!"

Apparently, for a little more money they'll supply units that don't work and are in need of repair.

Apparently, for a little more money they'll supply units that don't work and are in need of repair. And for a little more money than that, they'll rip you off, give you nothing, and call you bad names! :-D

This is like distressed furniture. I grew up with distressed furniture. Why would I want to pay more for it? Or distressed jeans. It's bad enough when I rip a hole in mine. Paying to have both knees ripped apart so I can look like a slob?...uh, no.

All funny, but these are WAY Cool. Who wants to show up, at the neighborhood "pick up" basketball game... With NEW tennis shoes? Chris

The grinder is REALLY obvious. Better to tie them to the back of the car and drive around the neighborhood for at least half an hour, then throw them in a fire for a few minutes. Maybe a bit of baby shit rubbed in for the browning. Then a coat of clear on top. Good to go. To be clear - there will be no special GRINDR edition.

Those yummy mains hum tones You can always tell who has actually worked with originals when you read a comment like this! Which one of the original bunch smelled like birthday candles melting over frosting after an hour? LOL The Trainwrecked Audioscape are not slowly burning out, by the way, HA!
