I was waiting for the sale to demo this. I wasn't actually expecting it to be a for sure purchase for me. I've used Repeater and Echoboy for years, with Repeater taking over the go-to role in the last couple. I knew Timeless 3 would be king for super tweakability and thoughtful UI (it's FF after all), but I wasn't sure it would rule the day for the more basic delay stuff, ie, "I want a cool sounding slapback on this vocal" or whatever. Timeless 3 comes out on top for me though. Sounds so good and I get what I want quickly and intuitively. I love having the Pro-Q style EQ for the repeats right there on the interface. I get a better 'vintage' tone out of it by using a little saturation and just EQing the delay by ear than I do with the Space Echo/Echoplex/etc sonic profiles in Repeater or Echoboy. I really dig it. With the other FabFilter stuff I have it was like $58 for me.
Worth checking out during the sale.

I’ve been wanting to check this out, but every time I’m like “do I really need another delay plug”? I will give this a spin!

Yeah, I mean for me, I wasn't gonna buy it if it was just the amazing, tweaky capabilities. I like having that stuff under the hood and sometimes get into it but I also need it to just sound great and get me where I want to be easily with basic, great sounding delay. It checked that box for me so in the cart it went.

Wait a new one came out? Damn I just got Timeless 2 for my personal rig. Really enjoyed that one.
$45 upgrade. Done.

Oh wow … watched the product video and this was an instant buy.
Big FabFilter fan here and I was missing a simple stereo delay since moving to Luna (stereo buses can’t do dual mono on UAD plugs yet) so I was considering getting somethng for those ping pong moments but this goes waaaay beyond that.
Bought on my phone and looking forward to installing at the studio later and dropping into a few vibey mixes I am working on.

Repeater has been my goto for simple to use sounds great delay. I wanted to like Timeless 2 (and I own it), but in general if I don't spend consistent time with it day after day I get lost in the interface causing me to spend more time than I want. I'm not a power user of it - and my delay needs are in general quite simple. It will be hard to unseat Repeater based on that UI usability alone; not to mention I'm happy with the sound.
I see that they have a new interface in Timeless 3 so possibly that could address the issues I've had with 2. I'll pull the demo and give it a run since the sale has an attractive upgrade price.

How does it compare to that?

How does it compare to that? Not really sure. I don’t have the Valhalla delay, only demo’d it a few years ago when I was getting out of the Slate sub and seeing if I liked anything better than Repeater or not. I remember thinking the Valhalla was cool, but I liked Repeater more and went with it. I still like Repeater and will still use it, but I think Timeless 3 will be the first reach for me.

Doing these comparisons has also reaffirmed how much I like D16 Repeater. Messing with the controls of Timeless 3 has spurred me to mess with Repeater more. It's rad. Very glad to have Timeless 3 too, but I think it'll be more of a 50/50 split on which one gets the call for any given delay duty.

I've been meaning to grab the fab mb, and this looks ingesting too. I don't have the gate or de-esser either and never am happy with the ones I do have.
Have you guys used the synth or filter? Should I be thinking about those or not really worth the dough? Only 57 bucks to add the filter and synth to the cart...

I think they are some of the best: the de-Es is my go to.
Try the demos and see.
They have a bundle discount or cumulative discounts as you buy more.

I’ve got Pro-Q3, Pro-L2, Pro-DS, Pro-C2, Pro-MB, Saturn2, and now Timeless 3. Not sure why I’ve never tried the others. I’ve thought about the gate but I just don’t do much gating these days.

Yeah Pro-DS is my favorite de-esser by a mile. It’s so good.

I have q3, l2, c2 and use them all over the place. Love them.
Tested the reverb a few ago and it didn't get me pumped, so I'm gonna skip that.

And like you I don’t love it. I love the layout and the way it’s functionally designed, I’m just not that into its sound. I need to try a bit more with it actually.

I have Q3, MB, L2, C2, R, Saturn and I just got timeless 3
With the reverb you have to play with the bright and colour knobs. I generally use it for longer reverbs (2+ seconds) and having the EQ right there is very useful.

Not to get too far off track but I’d love to hear more from you guys that have Saturn. It's earned a steady place in my workflow. Pretty amazing sculpting to be done, but I also like just throwing it on like 'gentle transformer' or whatever and turning up the drive knob a bit. Kinda the same deal with Timeless, I wasn't necessarily going to want Saturn if it only excelled at the super tweaky stuff. I needed it to also just sound good as a harmonic/drive box. It does to me.
