Forgot to mention, the KSM141 has is a little bit light in the bass in cardioid (at distance), and has a sort of bass bump in Omni. You can see this on the published frequency response graphs. It's a nice sort of yin/yang thing with that rotary chamber switch.

They’re a bit bass light but have this dry, vintage, woody 70s quality to them I dig. They don’t sound bass starved though like some current Neumanns do.

They’re amazing for the price. They’re actually good unlike what people say about most things that are “good for the price.” I prefer the Beyer MC 930s but a pair of those cost 3 KSM 137/141 ! Agreed, the Beyer 930's are cheaper here than the Shure's. I bought some 84's second hand because everyone said I should, the KSM's seem to be owned by every project studio (so I've run into them on more occasion). Sold the 84's, kept the Beyer's and don't regret it.. 84's are a staple and they're great but compressors don't buy themselves.

I'm about half way through making a little test track and they have a cool sound. They certainly sound like I would expect a KSM 32 to sound if it were an SDC, so to speak. A different mic but a certain quality to it. I think I like these better, though.

There’s a pair at the theater where I work a live music broadcast show, zero complaints with them.

A sloppy little improvised test track. I like them.

Perfect mild-hangover music, sounds fantastic. Yea man! I feel pretty hungover all the time so it works! Thanks haha! This is through the Audient preamps and A/D and clocking with the Apollo.
