how people put up with the ridiculous wait times is beyond me.
Stam has some customer quotes on their website where they say that it was totally worth to wait a year or longer. If you deal with smaller companies you may have to be patient because they do not have the manpower. For my taste I like to support smaller businesses because I know the money goes to pay families instead of greedy banks.
I'm definitely a fan of smaller companies.aside from my console[api] and PT rig I'd say 90% of the gear I own is from smaller boutique type companies. I think the longest I've waited was for my shadow Hills Mastering comp [about 14 years ago? yikes].from the first cad drawing Peter sent me to the final unit serial #002 it took a year.hand built in his garage. Still waiting on my Heiserman 47[going on 4 months]..getting itchy lol. guess I'm not as patient as I used o be.

I hear you yes I am not the patient's person too.
Most things in life come with patience, it's a fact. I can't count how many good things I destroyed not being patient, special relationships.

I just happen to prefer the ones that don't straight up lie to their customers. No excuse for that.

I'm just going to say.. While I too want to use the little guy and I don't want to wish Stam or anyone else any hardship because I have also tried to produce gear for people in a timely manner and know how hard it can be..
The best mic is the one you're using, because the alternative is not doing anything. I can't imagine waiting for a year for a mic and it being worth the wait simply because whatever you were using during that wait must have been good enough, right? I would also imagine that the wait brings some kind of emotional investment and it being very hard to not believe in miracle mics when you've waited so long.
I speak only from my own experience of trying very hard to find something I wanted, buying it and waiting for it, thinking it was the best thing ever once received.. And a year later it sits unused.

I'll say this, I have a friend with the Stam SA67 and I've heard quite a few clips of it so far. It sounds really good. Not quite as good as that friend's new U67 Reissue, but still really good. So if you can wait, you'll be waiting on a solid sounding mic. The price to performance ratio is always great with Stam. However, if you need to start recording projects I would find an alternative for now. Maybe a TLM67 or the new Warm will fit the bill for now. Then when your order is ready you can decide what to do. It's important to have some good tools now. I really liked the TLM67 when I had it. Its not as good as my Frankensteined MKU67, but still really solid. The Warm sounds ok from what I heard, but maybe a touch darker on the top end than a real U67.

I wouldn’t schedule paying work around the delivery of gear with an unknown (and likely lengthy) waiting time, no matter the maker.

Oh I have plenty of mics. It's just that I know I'll close more business with this mic in hand. I don't work with wealthy people, but they pull the trigger more easily when certain options are on the table.

So, for those of you who are still waiting on your SA67, I imagine some, if not all, of you got the email from Josh a few weeks ago stating that Tim Campbell was no longer going to make the capsules.
Josh said that he was looking for a new capsule maker, but was unsure if he would be able to find a suitable replacement. He said he would let us know by the first week of June. Well that has come and gone and there is still no word on what is going to happen, despite several attempts to get an email response.
So I'm trying the tried and true method of bringing it up in the forums to get a response.
Josh, what's the word on this? If it's not going to happen, let me know. I have decisions to make and may opt to use my 50% discount on the 609 if the 67 is not gonna happen. But I need to know before you sell out of the 609s. Let me know.
