I don't know if this is a good idea or not but I was thinking it's possible RGO could have a "Plugins / Music Computers / Audio Interface" area if there's enough threads to go in one. That makes great sense to me!! More on point than a Bourbon forum. Or maybe not.... It makes sense to me as well. We'll have to ask the Admin. Just type in @ and admin every time you wish to get the Faerie Godfather to appear and consider your entreaties. Bring #Bourbon. Johnkenn

Why would we make more sub forums?

It seems like plugins and audio interfaces, computers, are sort of a special topic in some ways. But I'm not sure if there's enough traffic to warrant a specific sub forum. Not everyone, but some people prefer to talk more about hardware, some people are super interested in plugins, and so on.
Just an idea.

Personally, I appreciate how there's NOT a separate subforum for plugins, etc. It's one of the things I like about this place. It breeds more of an attitude of, "let's talk about stuff that sounds good, whether it's hardware or software." Sometimes over at the purple place it feels like hardware vs. software is a caste system.

One of the many things I despise about GS is how everything is separated.

I admit that I usually just go to the "main forum" but I have made special attention efforts to spend more time in the other sub categories also, if you don't you can miss some great discussions. Same on RGO. But for example, Mastering can be a significantly different discussion than Low End Recording, so sometimes it makes sense.
I do really appreciate the lets all get along vibe on RGO it's rare on the internet.

I could be an outlier but I hardly ever navigate via forum/sub-forum. Here or at GS I just check either participated threads or new threads to see what people are talking about. I've never been like "I want to go talk about amps and only amps, let me just head on over to..."
Looking at new posts or whatever shows me what's active across any sub-forums.

I can't really tell for sure how much traffic other subforums get on here at RGO besides the main "Pro Audio" forum, anyway.
For instance -- [hint, hint] -- how many folks have seen the RGO Christmas Party thread I started in the "Off Topic" subforum? Anybody interested besides me, toddj, wiz, and svart?

Thanks for that I just now discovered the "New Topics" area in the upper toolbar. You learn something new every day.

Sometimes over at the purple place it feels like hardware vs. software is a caste system. The high end, mid priced, and low end separation sucks too. Like some of these high end pres have a lower bom inside where it counts than FMR and better interface pres. Meanwhile some of the newer API and AMS gear has junky parts inside and what’s in the Focusrite and RME is laughably bad. Sub Drawmer and costs more. Knockoff chinese caps and bad opamps.
