I don't normally make 0dBFS my job. Lately have been sticking with the MFIT recommendation of none higher than -1dBFS. Happy enough with the lookahead limiter in DP, since it's for client reference anyway. Files from here sent for mastering never have limiting.....call me conservative.....

I would venture a guess that it’s impossible for TPL to change the sound of the limiter. It’s just engaging it a little more often, isn’t it?
Do you use the button in FabFilter that lets you listen to the delta? That is pretty cool.

The reason it changes the sound is becuase your DAC isnt distorting. Most people couldn't distinguish DR 8 from DR4....but, anyone can tell that tenth (or couple) of a DB that makes the DAC distort. Its like a digital exciter.
