Just had a few minutes with it.
Did some AB against the Warm and the Slate FG116.
I can't believe the build quality of the KT76 - for this low amount of money - it should be illegal to produce the unit.
The housing is not too bad.
Neutriks in and out, it feels like quality potentiometers.
It was interesting to hear that plug ins have come a long way, even if the KT76 / Warm vs Slate FG 116 do not have the exact same attack and release times.
I say we talk taste here....none of the options is bad.
The KT76 sounds to my ears very similar to the WARM Audio I was surprised about this, but one RGO user told me that earlier.
Why I like the KT76/Warm over the Slate simulation on a female lead vocal?
The KT76 brightens up the sound, I thought its funny how I can get top end sheen if I don't want it. The KT76/Warm is running smoother, less stressed vs the Slate FG116 plug in.
To my ears the Slate Plug In sounds a bit darker, and acts a little nervous too, and it can sound chocked when I want a few more dbs of GR. But that was something I expected. I have no idea why this is often the case with plug ins, exact same gain staging, and they act crazy at extreme settings.
Maybe all this is no big deal and I could live with all options, but I love everything that limits using the mouse.
The KT 76 stays, 3 years warranty by the retailer and 10 years by Behringer. This is unbelievable.
My guesswork is they will rise the retail price as soon this thing is selling better.
I started with the 76 next stop is the KT2A....

None of the parts in an 1176 are very expensive. Instead of asking how they can sell them for so cheap, ask yourself: how can others sell them for so much more?
