Anyone here using any of their gear? They make some nice looking pieces including a Fairchild 670 style Comp, a cool looking Tape Machine simulator, and bunch of Helios style pieces. I’d love to hear what people have to say. www.anamodaudio.com

Last I heard, the Analog Tape Simulator had been out of production for a while, but there were plans to start making it again. Not sure where they are with that. I know the AM660 is currently out of production, and used prices are almost the same as new prices. I've been meaning to email them to see about getting in line for a pair if/when they ramp up again.
AFAIK, there are plenty of positive reviews for both, but I've never used either one.

Isn't it Dave Amels's company? He's the guy who is the expert in Hammond/Leslie modeling...did LPX's model...my old Voce V3 in the 90s. The first organ modeler, from memory.
Never used their pro audio stuff, though.

I had everything he ever made and sold all of it. the helios pres and eq's were cool but cleaner more modern sounding than the real thing.I ended up buying some original vintage modules the 670 was ok.I have the unfairchild now which is amazing and more flexible. also had the fully loaded Anamod tape ATS-1 sim box.moved on to other things mainly itb tape sims.easier recall, more flexible and automation etc.

Does it need a lot of maintenance/retubing?

m03 thanks for the heads up. roundbadge, thanks for the description. I was really looking at the 670 and the Tape Simulator. I h3ar you on the ITB tape plugins being more versatile, esp recall.

I have a fully loaded ATS-1 that I absolutely love and use on every single project I do.
Dave Amels no longer owns Anamod by the way. He sold the company last year.

I have a stereo pair of AM660s, and they are my go to parallel mix bus comps.
Love them in that role!
Wouldn’t object to an Unfairchild in my rack though.

I heard a rumor that the AM660's are coming back into production next year. I've been curious about them again recently so this was interesting news. I still want an Unfairchild but the smaller size (and cost) would make them handy for remote sessions.

That would be an interesting development. Perhaps it would help temper the prices on those things...asking prices are now close to x2 in as many years.

You know, if Anamod had ever released a more affordable 500 series version, I would have been all over that, slowly building up until I had 8 or even 16 channels. I just never had the requisite money or rack space to buy that many channels of the current version.
