Drew's comments about analog summing have, I think, pretty much eliminated that as a possibility, but I could totally see them adding capabilities to Console to allow you to use it not just for tracking but also at mix time. So you would still track into your daw, but you could then run it out into Console and do your mixing there as well. Well, it's not Apollo III or IV.. I agree. I think it IS hardware of some kind, but it won't be a new Apollo.

It will most likely integrate with their existing hardware and software..... would seem the smartest way forward business wise... rather than a seperate architecture... also I don't see a full on DAW coming, that alienates too many customers.... Nor Subscription. Most likely some sort of tactile interface in conjunction that works in with their hardware. Imagine if they brought out some sort of controller, that looks like a 610 console... VU meters, Knobs, talkback, monitor switching and also remote controls Cheers Wiz

It is notable that Gannon is now heading up hardware development for UA and he was a critical player at Digidesign and Avid with all the Pro Tools control units, up through D-Control.

There are so many threads all over the place I can't keep up!!
It is fun, but not as fun as once it's released. Then I can share my knowledge.

I'm not giving up on Logic after all the years I spent getting used to it. Logic editing features alone makes it hard to replace. Then there's the fact that as cool as some UAD plug-ins are, Logic's compressors sound just as good, many of their virtual instruments sound great, even their new reverb would do fine if I didn't have so many others. Also, I have a boatload of 3rd party plug-ins from companies like Softube, Soundtoys, Slate, Relab, Waves and others, I certainly would want to have access to them regardless of what DAW I use. Hopefully, whatever they're up to can integrate with all our other gear and plugs. If it's a UAD ecosystem, it could mean having to buy only UAD's plugs to do everything you want, and I doubt anyone here would be up for that. Not only this what ever they release we have everything for great sonics or I could say its getting more difficult to release something new/useful... I am drowning in possibilities and this kills my creativity....

Maybe some kind of center section, monitor controller, channel strips, faders, easy analog summing? Connect with thunderbolt 3 of course.

I bet it’s a digital console that operates within the footprint. Maybe modular.

Hopefully the prices aren’t like Avid controller prices if it is a digital console/controller. Update to console, maybe even WiFi control support from iPad? I’m thinking it is a fully modular controller with analog preamps/monitor controller/mini console with hopefully onboard hardware channel strips, but where you can assign plugins to the channel strips. Works in tandem with interfaces and overrides all features leaving you with a powerful solution for tracking and mixing controlling your Apollo system. Get ready to sell a kidney folks if this is the case!

Well, it’s most likely going to have DSP. I mean, that’s their thing. Probably nothing new as far as tech. Same tech used on their X series interfaces (mic pre’s/headphone amps/DSP). Probably reconfigured as a control surface. That’s my guess anyways!

Am hoping they use the newer sharc chips to significant increase dsp processing capacity.

If we’re all making predictions - I could see them making a UA version of something like the waves CLA mixhub - but better sounding and more options.

If it’s an entirely DSP thing with no hardware / recorder / mixer I may just quit the internet for good.

Hedging here... Either digital console or tape emulation. Maybe both! EDIT: Now I'm thinking it's related to "Thunderbolt" as an interface, regardless of the rest of the true nature. With a likelihood of being "Cloud based" too.
