Fair enuff, I found console ok, but the cue system a little confusing at first! ya we don’t actually own plug ins but have a right of use: subscription a bit loaded in the sense of an ongoing payment obligation: really time limited rental vs ongoing usage rights ?

Now they changed countdown page from 2" tape reels to the 8th VU meter on a meter bridge. Looks like Studer A800 bridge? www.uaudio.com/nammThis "thing" has really caught my interest. Drew @ UA Watched your instructional videos, really informative and good! Looking forward to follow-up videos

A DAW that doesn’t crash? I’m in. A good steering wheel that doesn’t fly off while you’re driving

Even Cubase 10.5.5 has been crashing on me. Seems to happen with Superior.

Btw - I would be highly pissed if UA started a subscription model considering the amount of money I’ve spent to “buy” the plugs.

A DAW that doesn’t crash? I’m in. Have you tried Reaper? Ive been using it for about 6 years. Its crashed maybe 5 times? And then likely as a result of my pretty underwhelming computer. *edit- Whoops. I see now people are already hounding you on Reapers excellence : )

Just already have three DAWS installed...90% of everything I get is Pro Tools, so I just need PTs not to crash.

I don’t think I would buy into a UAD DAW. I bought Harrison years ago and never used it. I bought Cubase and still haven’t installed it. Switching and learning DAW’s is a pretty big deal to me. It would have to be revolutionary, super stable and a cut above everything else. And I wouldn’t want it to be tied to hardware.

I would probably try a UA DAW. I really gravitate to their products.

Ya, if you have an apollo, why wouldn’t you try a UA daw ? On the other hand, if you are all out of UA, it’s not a compelling reason to jump back in .

I have a hard time thinking they put the years of resources necessary into developing their own full-fledged DAW. If they did though I’d absolutely try it. UA has some great creative talent and God knows Avid is doing their damnedest to push us PT users away.

How about UA just buys Pro Tools and brings it up to speed?

So.. Tape.. It records. 8th channel of a mixer.. it sums.
They already have tape effects so, guessing, it ain't that.
I'd guess it's a UA DAW with 8 summing channels. I'd hope it would eventually be a lot more, but this could be pretty cool. Especially if it could prevent the use of a computer!! I HATE dealing with computers and software constantly (not why I got into music). Hopefully it's like a Radar system, but with more channels.
Track with UA plugs on the way in (if you like / know what you're doing / have balls) to a UA DAW / computer thingy. Do edits, comps, o'dubs, mix, etc, then sum out (it would have to have hardware inserts or I am totally not interested) to what you like come mix time into ?.. back into the UA DAW?
It's really kinda amazing that a company hasn't done the Radar thing on a more modern / formal level. Berry retired fro Radar and there isn't much confidence in it continuing as the same powerhouse of support / service. UA could dominate this market from the gate.
Dedicated UA multitrack recorder, mixer with 8 summing channels, and the ability to insert 12 or so channels of external gear $9k Same thing doubled $14k
If it can't insert real hardware I would have zero interest. I have a massive amount of hardware and it ain't going anywhere anytime soon. I'll make a whole album and only use a little DAW eq, but a ton of real outboard gear.
