The only way I can be there is through FaceTime. ;-) Speaking of which, this has me thinking we should consider a monthly virtual gathering to talk shop. Maybe someone shows off a new piece of gear others have interest in, demos a new plugin, or shows how they tackle a problem.

If any of you guys are into drums, check out the Barton booth while you're there.
Todd is at Booth #7539. Tell him Jesse from The Mixing House sent you by.
I've got a maple and a beech kit of his along with a snare. Great kits for the money. Tracking an Irish punk band tonight with the beech kick, and maple floor tom along with a DW rack tom. These drums in some combination end up on most of the tracks I put out.
Also, if you play live at all, these have some of the best finishes I've seen.

FWIW I plan to be at the Hilton Food Court, around Noon tomorrow. Sporting a Fedora, and singing "Year of the Cat". Code word is "Luna". (homage to Get Smart!) Just look for that guy who looks just like Brad Pitt's-slighty-older Brother. (yeah right;)) Chris

Chris, I plan to meet you there, barring unforseen circumstance. I'll be the short guy impersonating Buck Dharma.

I also met some giants in the mixing world. At the SSL stand, Tom Lord-Alge and his brother Chris were demo'ing the SSL Origin large format console. Tom had a master 24trk of his breakthrough Grammy recording of Steve Winwood's "Higher Love." He'd gotten it somehow from a student of his in Japan, who only had one reel of a two machine session. So Tom band passed the stereo recording of Chaka Kahn's background vocal part and inserted it into the protools session to make the song sound like it should. Also, Steve's vocal on the tape was the scratch, not the overdubbed finished vocal (which was on the other reel.) But cool as hell to hear the song multitrack with Tom moving the faders up and down. Watching Tom work was Mick Guzauscki. Got a chance to talk to both of them. Forgive all the pictures of me, but I had to get selfies with these superstars of the mixing desk.

I went to Heiserman's space, and met Eric Heiserman, as well as seeing Steve Squire from Coil Audio again. I heard all the Heiserman mics and they all sounded great through the phones. Hard to pick a favorite, they all would have their strengths and uses. The new mic looks great, like some 21st Century 414. Here's the mic and the man.

I wasn't able to make it to Namm, but Ward drove up to the studio, We had lunch and talked life and audio. We are trying to get together on Wednesday to visit Vanguard microphones, and a local SSL 4056e console studio.
