If this holds true it should sound like the UAD a lot... and the UAD was wonderful. 11:32 CET their server can't handle all the requests.

I am interested but too lazy to demo it. I await your findings... I currently use Little Plate and Abbey Road Plates. They work well for me.

I didn't think in the demo it sounded that great. Probably pass myself.

Always funny to see presets on something like an EMT plate. How lazy can you get! I know people like preset browsing and its fast/easy....but just sayin' lol
Demo sounds pretty nice actually. Doesn't seem as lush/rich sounding as the UAD on the top end, but seems to have a 'bigger' sound from what I hear so far....Which is what I think I want from a EMT plate in some cases.
Tube saturation looks useful. Has a little of that 'digital' fingerprint (not as complex sounding as the real thing), but no way around that.

I didn't think in the demo it sounded that great. Probably pass myself. I say it's a mistake to not get this one. I have no idea of what happened in the demo video but I had it today on a SD and it sounds very lush wide and open. IMO this is the exception with plugs. I think the Lustorious Plates are great but the Auturia is a different animal and no risk at all - it's for free.

Sounded almost closer to a large spring reverb on the vocal demo IMO.
A lot of pretty knarly metallic coloration in the reflections.
Definately doesn't hold a candle to our EMT140.

Is gnarly good or bad? A plate reverb is metal, so I'm guessing that coloration is normal. I thought the plugin sounded great on my initial tests. For free options, this and the NI Raum reverb give most people what they are looking for in adding some space to things.

I got it and came to testing it today in a mix and rushed thru the presets just to hear some examples. Pretty usable and some sounds were really nice. For free it is a no-brainer. I am not sure if this had the same effect like when I first tested the UAD 140 but I think I absolutely liked what I heard...

I'd love to hear a comparison of this plug to your plate! Late response but here is a few of examples of our EMT-140. It has coloration, it is a great big lump of steel after all, but the Arturia samples I heard almost sounded closer to a spring than a plate.
Uploaded by the artist to their Soundcloud account. Not sure what they used for the source files but I suspect it was MP3's. I've noticed some compression artifacts going on compared to the original wav files but I'm sure SoundCloud does it's own processing anyway.
Kind of a Ronettes style Doo Wop track.

They are good. Very tweakable. I spent some time making it sound like a real 140 plate printed track that I have. At the end it was close, a little less depth and spaceness but I'm used to that.
Btw, it has 3 different plates and they are very (very) different from each other.
All in all, a solid release. I would place it with Lustrous Plates, AA Ebony and UAD 140 as the best 140 plugins.

Your plate sounds incredible. I definitely hear what you mean about the Arturia sounding closer to a spring. I have a couple of different springs in the studio, and their vocal examples are closer to it than what you posted, on what the Transatlantic Plate plug sounds like.

Until we got a real EMT-140 I really didn't expect it to have as much mojo and lushness as it did. Even the 480L started collecting dust except on a few occasions. Also maybe we lucked out and got a particularly good 140. I've never seen a EMT-140 in better condition anywhere.

This has really become my number one 140 for big lush vocals.
