Everyone seems to love the 7th Heaven verb. It's this THE VERB to buy these days? Any dislikes?

I can’t say whether it’s “The” reverb to own but it is very nice. I compared it directly to the 480L verb and went with 7th heaven as it sounded just as good (maybe better), was cheaper, and less cpu intensive. It has a nice modulation that imho helps glue vocals into a track.
I’d also consider the SP2016 too. It’s one of my other go to verbs. I really like it on guitars and drums.
For context I use 4 reverbs that I feel are all quite different and that bring different things to the table. UAD Plate 140, the Cubase Convolution reverb, 7th Heaven, and Eventide SP2016.
Between those 4 I feel like I have all my basses covered

They are going to do the BF sale . I have 7th H pro and agree it is very very good. I will buy Luscious plates on BF. They offer discounts if you own another of their plugs so maybe check that out too ?

Checked out this video and thought the verb sounded great.

My 7th Heaven (basic version) is my #1 reverb. It edged out my Relab XL480, which is now my second verb, Sound Toys Little Plate is 3rd. Between those, I'm covered. I've done tracks with just one verb, and the 7th Heaven beat the XL480 for transparency. I now use the Little Plate before my UAD EMT-140.

For me, it’s so good it’s like cheating. And after using it on every mix for a while, I had to have a hardware Bricasti! I think the plugin gets you 90% of the way compared to the real thing, and that’s enough for many uses.

I’ve been itching for this one as well. Frankly between Altiverb and Slate Verb Suite I have a lot of bases covered though.

Reverb and delays are things I just can't have enough of. They are the spice of mixes. Great for creating emotion in mixes.
In the Dr Mix video above, great sounds seemed effortless.

That's also my experience you can do some very with nice things with only one instance - simulate room mics. Remember using it the first time on an experiment with logic drummer, just to see if logic drummer can do some blues feeling.
I was not so much impressed by logic drummer, but I was impressed by the 7th Heaven, because one of my favorite Blues Albums was done with a lot of tracking room sound.
I was shocked how good the plug in simulated this with only one instance.

I just downloaded the professional demo version and installed it to check against my Bricasti M7M.
I used studio A, and compared the two, same volume level.
The plug in is a nice room sound, but doesn't have the 3D and movement of the hardware.
Its a nice plug in.... It is however not in the same league as the hardware. (if it was I would sell my bricasti in a heart beat and put those thousands of dollars into something else.)
Do not buy this thinking you are getting a Bricasti, buy this if you want a nice reverb plug in.
EDIT I just tried the Deep Stone room, the difference is way more with this one....
Cheers

$100 vs $3,000, I’d say the plug’s holding its own ! I know you got a smiley face there..... but its not. Its a question only of money. There are many reverbs that will do what this plug in is doing in varying degrees.... There are few things I would pay the Bricasti Money I have paid , and its nearly doubled in price here in Oz since I bought mine. I know that Bricasti owners can come off as elitist... saying things like, "Nothing sounds like a Bricasti" etc But the reality is , nothing does. If one was to add up the cost of all the plugins one had purchased chasing reverb sounds.... and here are mine Relab Valhalla Lexicon Voxengo Samplicity IK Multimedia TSAR TrueVerb UAD Plate 140 Dream Verb LX480L Whatever came with the slate bundle.... etc etc etc I could have paid for a Bricasti...used it and sold it for more than I bought it for. Again I realise the smiley face.... Cheers Wiz

Cheers Wiz Jesus Wiz no one claimed it's the M7 but it's the next best thing you can buy in plug in land. I also ABd the BM7 against 7th H. And everybody in the studio came to the conclusion that the plug in sounds wonderful for what it is, and it's not the BM7. It's important to mention that no fake room at all still is king.

I definitely want to hear your thoughts - you've saved me $100...... and started me trying once again to figure out where I can scrape up 3 grand.
And probably saved me the trouble of trying to figure out how to integrate one ITB effect into what is essentially a hardware workflow.

Well here you go... Zip file contains 3 tracks Dry Mix Bricasti Return 100 % wet (Deep Stone Room) 7th Heaven Return 100% wet (Deep Stone Room) (The 7th heaven is roughly 1.5dB softer, adjust it in your DAW) This is Preset VS Preset no changes made. This allows you by varying the volume of the effected signal tracks to the dry track, to essentially control wetness.... you can see how different levels sound. Bricasti is via analog out and in of my Motu 16A Listen for depth and movement. If the difference doesn't matter to you, then it doesn't matter to you. (this is not directed at you personally John) Just say thanks for the test and move on with your day Wiz Bricasti compared to 7th Heaven

Thanks for posting these, Peter. The difference I'm hearing isn't merely one of quality. These sound like different settings. The Bricasti return sounds a lot wetter and it's more pronounced in the low mids. I have no doubt that, even if the settings were exactly the same, the Bricasti sounds better. But my ears tell me that, despite being labeled the same, these simply aren't the same patch. I dunno, maybe something else is up with it but they don't so much sound like a difference in inherent quality between units as they do different emulated rooms. Or maybe there's somehow more dry signal and less wet in the 7th Heaven version (I know it should be 100% wet for both). Makes me wonder about the way Liquidsonics presets map to Bricasti presets.

Just as a clarification, I do own a Bricasti. And I prefer it to the plugin. I can hear the difference clearly, especially on the very last details of the tails, that fade beautifully into black with no artifacts whatsoever.
However, I have no qualms about using both in a mix. I won’t bother printing a Bricasti track. I put the Bricasti on the most important element (either a chamber/plate for the vocal, or Studio B Close for everything else) and use the plugin on the other auxes.

Hey Wiz are you using the analog in/out in the Bricasti? I use digital.
