Hey fellas,
Just finished this video on the FabFilter Pro-Q's "EQ Match" feature. I was totally blown away at how well this plugin matched the tonal character of the reconed Jensen speaker to the original. Did not expect it.
Check it out!

The world is a better place because we have Dan. What a cool feature I didn’t know about and very well presented too.
Thanks!

I watched a video about Billy Gibbons, where they EQ'd every guitar he played in his live show to sound like his Pearly Gates Gibson Les Paul.

Wow. Still slightly less open as the original on my speakers, but it was amazing how close you got it. You are a total pro in creating these videos and how you deliver the content.
That is a feature I've used but never in this manner.

It would be cool to experiment with this on vocals. Matching a singer's voice through the vibe of a vintage U67 to a clone.

Thank you, Dan. That was a wonderfully educational six and a half minutes.

The FabFilter Pro-Q 3 continues to astound me and it is the only plug-in I now use outside the UA ecosystem and mostly for subtractive and transparent surgical EQ adjustments.
Fantastic video and a wonderful tip.
Two thumbs-up and a big likey.

That was excellent. I've searched for ways to use the EQ match function. This is an excellent one. I could have used this last year when I re-recorded a tune with the same amp but ended up with a different speaker than the rough a year earlier. I had detailed enough notes on the chain and mic position that I bet I could have gotten a little closer. P.S. stop playing guitar so well it hurts my feelings.

Glad you all find the video interesting. All of the FabFilter plugins are impressive. The limiter and EQ are used on probably every session, with the single channel compressor and multi-band compressor right behind.
Using their plugins must feel the same as when the old timers first had access to Pultecs and 1176s. It's just good stuff.

I love the Q3, especially the ability to monitor another instance for conflicts. L2 is amazing as well.
