Here's a link to the shootout files recorded at Sputnik... it was separate takes recorded back to back using the same console channel on a Neve 8014. There's a no EQ at all, and just a bit of compression going in, and some reverb. The vintage u47 was one of the favorites of the Blackbird collection.... serial number 136, and it had a k47 capsule in it. Vintage U47 from Blackbird was the unit they call "Fred" Large badge, large transformer very early version. K47 capsule installed. Fred! I keep wanting to call it Frank.

This sounds extremely interesting. I think I preferred the Heiserman to the U47 is those comparisons, actually. It seems a bit smoother. How much is the downpayment for the preorder expected to be?

Thanks!! just wanted to mention that Heiserman will be at Summer NAMM but not with an official booth. We are attending some studio parties and events and can setup one on ones with serious buyers, We will be wandering the floor during the event as well. Just keep an eye out for us!! Will you be selling through retailers?

Will you be selling through retailers?
Initially sales will be through our website, heisermanaudio.com — retail sales could come at a later date, but we haven’t made that decision yet.
The great thing about continuning to operate direct is that cutting out an unnecessary middle man means greater value for both yourselves and the buyers/users. Pro-sumer brands like Warm and Klark-Technic have made their stock in trade at volume business. The one-for-all busines model is great for mass manufacturers but for companies with products we cherish like @audiscape Heiserman and stam . . . knowing that we are a specific taget market that is actively engaged with you makes your products more special to us. It strengthens brand loyalty as well. Making $300/unit on 1000 units is just as good as making $30/unit on 10,000. Maybe better. (NET NET of course, not gross margin) All the other studio engineers and studio owners that have been to my studio and held the Heiserman in their hands have said two things overall. 1. Wow, this is impressive 2. Where can I get one of these ?

Although I gave the last post "a like", as it's an intelligent concern....
My intuition is that your microphones are so great, the strong "word of mouth", will bring you up to at least even-compared to "going retail".
I'm not even kidding (this time!), that if you ever contacted Marcus, at his TV show, The Profit... He would want to inve$t in your company!

Wow, this is impressive 2. Where can I get one of these ? This is why I sell direct as well. I want people to afford things, even if it comes at the cost of loss of exposure. If I went through a distributor's markup and then a retailer's markup, I'd be right up there with Wunder and Bock prices (not knocking them whatsoever); I just don't want to do that. I'd rather stay in relative obscurity and make mics at (IMO) that level that folks can actually afford. I am sure Eric feels that way too; though I don't know if we've ever discussed it.

First off, happy Father’s Day!!
To the topic of selling direct vs dealers.. like Matt mentioned earlier we are staying 100% direct for now but are discussing options. It’s honestly all about keeping the same price point and still being able to scale and be profitable.. all while making sure the product stays perfect! That isn’t easy. So for now we stay direct and maybe in the near future we involve some small internet retailers to sell.. most likely starting with the h47 Fet...

Thanks cdkelly and tskguy ! The quoting got mixed up above, by the way, you were quoting me, and I'm glad to see I was of the same mind . . . never trying to speak for either one of you. Happy Fathers Day to all of you all!

But the website says it has sold out?? So what is the happening? Might just be boilerplate triggered by 0 inventory. I think it’s been that way for a while and obviously the mic isn’t out yet.
