Gee, I wonder where part of my upcoming $100 million+ Lottery winnings should be going? Why it's H47 tube mics for all the "irregular regulars" here! (kinda like buying a round of beers, but even a bit more upscale) I'm throwing in a extra 414 XLS for Dr. Bill too. (but is that a reward or punishment?) Chris I was watching Shaquille O'Neal on the Hot Ones show and he was talking about one of his first big paychecks, he blew a million dollars in one day or something. Part of it was "Stacks for my boys." I just love that idea of handing your friends a big fat stack of cash. Mom an dad got matching Ferraris or something. He had a "successful" rap career as well. His comment was, "My CD only made about a million dollars and that's not enough for Shaq." So he quit the rap game. That guy is hilarious.

And don't forget the 48 headbasket!! I would really like to have that option . . . swapping out capsules and having one with the U48 figure of 8 pattern. And it doesn't have to be in Crystal Blue!! Thanks to Guitar for the reminder. My Crystal Blue Heisenberg edition is doing well, thanks. Ward, it won't work like that. You can't put the 48 head assy onto a 47 body and get figure. It can work the other way around tho. 48 body with 47 head assy. No? Don't you just need to flip the wires on the back diaphragm?

Don't you just need to flip the wires on the back diaphragm? there's only one wire on the back diaphragm, its a shared backplate so there's no other wire to flip. it involves adding some components to the mic circuitry beneath the headbasket, unfortunately. the back diaphragm signal has to be inverted. It 'is' possible to design a mic with all of that componentry located up in the detachable headbasket if you are designing a new mic from scratch, and its certainly been done in the past as well as in newer designs (BLUE bottle, Luke Audio, etc); but not done to a traditional 47, sadly. I 'do' think it would be cool to make a 'U478' with a 3 way switch and the added circuitry. It's been a thought rattling around in my brain for some time. lol

Hey RGO, we have 3 mics left at the pre-order price, so if anyone was on the fence, now's the time! The discounted pre-order mics will be gone by the end of the day. I really should order one with M7 and on with the K47. But I would be KEEEELD DEAD.

I think my brain was thinking more like a dynamic mic. I shamefully don't know a ton about the technical aspects of condensers, actually.

U-478 trivia... There was a German submarine, the U-478 U-boat. It was sunk in 1944, by Canadian and British aircraft. Only one patrol and never sank any ships. 52 in the crew went down, no survivors. I was pretty sure this was an actual U-boat number, before looking it up.

Haha Wow that's a pretty specialized collection, I approve. I looked it up and apparently Shaq had a run of 5 or 6 albums of various sorts. I almost went out for a download yesterday but then I got distracted. I'm absolutely positive that there's gonna be some "golden moments" in there.
