A-maze-ing!
IMHO a good (or better) AE could make a very nice record, using even the new (black) NT1's. Chris

Thanks for posting this, Eric. Interesting indeed. Wondering about the cardioid-only. TF being a classical recordist, I would have thought omni. Maybe an omni cap is in the offing. Will be interesting to hear these. -09 Pure speculation but I know Tony uses m50’s and that they were working on an M50 clone for main arrays, so these are probably developed as spot mics. They announced this mic, their TFM50, TFM49, like 3 years ago in a video they have since taken down, but this is the first release of the line. I was really curious in the TFM50 for my own decca tree down the road. Still curious how they’ll really sound, but ended up picking up a few BLUE Bottle Rockets and B4 caps instead. Just need an excuse to use them.

Interesting. I do like the TF-5's better in these clips, but their KM184's sound odd to me. They don't sound nearly as bright as my KM184's sound. I have both a silver and a black KM184 and they sound slightly different from each other, but both are much, much brighter than these clips. In fact, I generally have to roll off the top end on them to keep them from being too bright in mixes. These clips are rather dark sounding. That makes me wonder if there's an issue with how they tracked..

I agree their 184’s sound prettier/softer than my experience.
